A song heard on the radio made time melt away, I was twenty-one again, it was a summer's day. We sat together on the beach looking out to sea, A newly- married couple planning how our lives would be. We sat there in the sunshine building castles in the air, Making plans to change the world, you'd be a millionaire. My dream was not for fortune, but a happy love-filled life, As we began our future as a new husband and wife. When the music ended, I came back from the past, Where had all the years gone? Time had flown so fast. Each summer we go back again to that sunny shore, And we sit there , remembering all those years ago. Although we didn't change the world, you're not a millionaire, But when I am in your arms I don't have a care. We had so many hopes and dreams, some of them came true, We're still together and I'm glad I've shared my life with you. |
